What’s a reading retreat?

At Hey Bestie!, our idea of a reading retreat is a chance to enjoy a long weekend with a book and some friends, new or old, with no responsibilities, no planning, and no stress. We’ll take care of the food, beverage, and entirely optional activities. All you have to bring is something to read!

Ideally, you’ll be able to unplug from the world and day-to-day grind to take some me-time. Your comfiest clothes are strongly encouraged.

So what book are we reading?

This isn’t a book club - there’s no assigned book. Read whatever you like! Whether that’s a four volume biography of Virginia Woolf or a queer romantic comedy set in outer space - we don’t judge!

What’s included in a Hey Bestie! Reading Retreat?

When you book a room at a retreat, you’ve booked an all-inclusive experience. We’ll provide the food, cooked by our private chef, the beverages (alcohol included), and the activities. You can also add transportation to and from your city, if you’d like.

What’s the balance between activities and reading time?

Our goal is to have one daytime activity, like a yoga class or a hike, and one nighttime activity, like trivia or a movie night for each day of the trip. However, all activities are entirely optional, so if you’re in the middle of a page-turner or just don’t feel like socializing, feel free to skip it!

Can you accommodate my dietary restrictions?

Yes! Please let us know your dietary restrictions when you book your retreat.

What is your cancellation policy?

We require a non-refundable $500 deposit for every booking. If you cancel 30 days or more before the retreat, we will refund you anything you’ve paid, excluding the deposit and transaction fees. If you cancel 29 days or less before the retreat, there will be no refunds. Bookings are non-transferrable.

What is the age range for guests?

Anyone who is 21 or older is welcome to attend.
